I found some neat little printable for the kids to make their own puppet theater.  Of course now I can’t remember the link to the print out – if anyone knows let me know and I’ll give credit where credit is due.

Here are Sophie and Sarah making their puppet theater:

Lizard Habitat

Sophie is counting down the days until she can have a lizard.  In her mind this is a done deal and everything revolves around this future-lizard-to-be.  Max, our cat, threw up a hair ball, Sophie’s response? “Good thing lizards don’t have hair balls”!  Pet Smart has two baby Bearded Dragons for sale – she’s already thinking of names for them!  In fact, she’s already designed their home!

Here’s a close up for the home-to-be:
The thing under the tall cactus is a hollow log for the lizard to sleep in.

Here’s another view that includes the heat lamp that will be needed:
(It even has an ON/OFF switch – and just look at all that heat it is producing!)

One reason we like homeschooling is the spontaneity.  One day last week, we had done lessons all morning.  It was a good morning but nothing special.  I fixed lunch but kept noticing what a gorgeous day it was.  I announced we were going to have a picnic and the kids were thrilled.  We set up in the front yard.  The kids really enjoyed their picnic lunch and I really enjoyed not having to wash the table and sweep the floors afterward!
